Dr Lek Ngee is currently a Senior Consultant Paediatrician in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) in Singapore. Dr Lek is a specialist doctor in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. He holds an appointment of Clinical Associate Professor in Duke-NUS Medical School, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS (YLL-NUS).

Dr Lek strives to be a competent and caring Paediatrician. He is deeply committed to providing the highest quality of clinical care for children and adolescents with diabetes mellitus and a wide range of endocrine conditions. In addition to providing clinical care, Dr Lek conducts clinical audits and research, and teaches Endocrine and Paediatric residents, medical students, and allied health professionals. Dr Lek has wide-ranging academic interests, including the study of pathogenesis, heterogeneity and natural history of various forms of diabetes mellitus; understanding the spectrum and range of complexity in disorders of sex development; delving into early-life programming and developmental origins of health and disease as well as life-course trajectory of health and illness; improving the management of childhood obesity, growth and puberty; and developing and using new medical technologies in patient care, including advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence in medicine. He aims to translate scientific advances and medical research findings into clinical practice to improve patient care.

Prior to his medical career as a Paediatrician, Dr Lek studied Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, under the Sundstrand-Economic Development Board (EDB) scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Science (Highest Honours) in Computer Engineering and was awarded the University Bronze Tablet Award for undergraduate excellence, followed by a Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering. He then worked in Singapore's EDB and the Institute of Systems Science at NUS, before he attended Newcastle University Medical School in the UK where he graduated with MBBS Honours (with Distinction). He did his postgraduate Paediatrics specialist training in Merseyside and East Anglia, and his subspecialty training in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK. He was also a Clinical Lecturer in Cambridge University's Academic Department of Paediatrics, before returning to Singapore in 2010.
