NICU: Information for Parents


Having your baby admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) can be a difficult and stressful time. It is normal for you to experience strong and mixed feelings which may range from worry and helplessness, to hopefulness at different times, during a period of great uncertainty.

For many parents, the NICU may be a very new and unfamiliar experience.

You may find that apart from having to worry about the present, you may also be thinking about the future and what is to come. It is common to feel overwhelmed during this period.
