The Microbiology Laboratory performs microscopic examination and cultures for micro-organisms to identify infectious pathogens accurately and to obtain antibiotic susceptibility information to support clinical care of the patient.
The laboratory supports the Hospital Infection Control Unit by providing data and analysis of pathogens detected.
