KKIVF Centre

KKIVF Centre’s Journey

KKIVF Centre is Singapore’s largest fertility centre, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment procedures for infertility-related services.

Our Team
At the heart of its operations is a multi-disciplinary team made up of fertility specialists, fertility nurses, embryologists, medical laboratory technologists and clinic support staff who are passionate about improving reproductive outcomes and are dedicated towards providing optimal care to our patients. Since its official inception in 1993, the KKIVF team has more than quadrupled over the years. The growth in manpower and expertise were in tandem to meet the rising demands for fertility care in Singapore and South-East Asia as well.

Our Milestones
KKIVF also achieved the world's first live birth from in-vitro maturation of oocytes retrieved from an ovarian tissue from a patient with ovarian cancer. Two embryos were subsequently transferred which resulted in a pregnancy. The patient successfully delivered in May 2012.

The first livebirth from KKIVF’s oocyte cryopreservation programme for fertility preservation due to medical indications was attained in 2018.

Over the last decade, continuous efforts have been made to improve clinical techniques, embryo culture techniques, alongside with rapid advancement of the cryopreservation programme to switch from slow freezing to vitrification and embryo selection and these have also led to a reduction in the risks of multiple pregnancies. With KKIVF encouraging suitable patients to transfer a single embryo to reduce the incidence of multiple births, the multiple birth rate has dropped to around 5% in 2022 which is comparable with international rates. The centre has also kept the rate of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), an IVF complication, low, at less than 1% in 2023.

In 2022, about one-third of the total assisted reproductive cycles done in Singapore were performed by KKIVF. In 2023, KKIVF Centre carried out more than 5,400 procedures, comprising of intra-uterine insemination, oocyte pick-up and embryo transfers. In addition, the centre is proud to have contributed to the births of more than 11,100 babies since 1993.

Our Present and Future
As the fertility landscape continues to evolve with the advent of new technology and processes, KKIVF strives to stay at the forefront by investing in training, education and research.

Our overarching goal is to provide the best clinical care and support to couples embarking on their fertility treatment journey at our centre, guided by our vision to be “a world class centre for patients, research and evidence-based medicine with patients at the heart of all we do”.
