Profile

Dr Shephali Tagore graduated in India (MBBS), obtained initial postgraduate training and received doctorate degree (MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in 1994 with subsequent training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in United Kingdom in various hospitals, Dr Tagore obtained Fellowship of Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecology, UK (FRCOG) in 2013. She joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore in 2004. She was awarded HMDP (2007) in the Management of High Risk Pregnancies & Critical Care; Dukes University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina, USA.

Dr Tagore has extensive clinical experience in general and various subspecialties of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her present clinical practice encompasses all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with special interest in High Risk Obstetrics, Fetal heart rate monitoring and Operative Obstetrics (i.e. cervical incompetence). Dr Tagore has been actively involved in the improvement of labour ward processes with introduction of new policies and development of sub specialty services. She is involved in planning the management strategy in complex pregnancies; with multidisciplinary team, and engaging mothers and their partners with evidence based counselling.

Dr Tagore has published widely and is frequently invited as speaker in several local and international meetings. She is active in teaching of residents, midwives, nurses, in addition to various training programs (CORE training workshop / Simulation) in KKH. She received the Academic achievement award for Obstetrics Emergency Training in March 2019.

Internationally, she teaches obstetric health care workers in various countries in South East Asia to improve perinatal care, introducing safe clinical practices as well as supporting them in streamlining their own systems and processes.

In recognition of her services to patients, she was awarded the SingHealth Health Quality Gold Award (2018-2019). She was also awarded the prestigious National IT excellence award in March 2016 for 'Trusted care: Redesigning Elective CS pathway'.
