Complicated Appendicitis Complication Rates

Up to a third of acute appendicitis cases that present to KKH are perforated appendicitis. This can result in more complications, the most significant being deep-seated surgical site infections such as intra-abdominal or pelvic abscesses, that may require further interventions. The rate of this complication occurring in KKH is exemplary1 which reflects excellent intra-operative technique as well as outstanding post-operative management.
